Australian home loans rose more than expected in September 2012

The number of new home loans granted in Australia rose more-than-expected last month, official data showed on Monday.

In a report, Australian Bureau of Statistics said that Australian home loans rose to a seasonally adjusted 1.8%, from -0.7% in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -1.0%.

Analysts had expected Australian home loans to rise 1.4% last month.
